August 11th - 15th

Playback Theatre with Di Adderley

The stories enacted in Playback Theatre are the real-life moments, scenes, future hopes, dreams and memories of the participants themselves, be they comic, tragic, epic, universal or somewhere in-between. We will develop our creative skills in the improvisational structures of this delightful form of theatre. You may be a beginner, or you may have some experience of playback and want to do more. We will perform for the other group on the final afternoon, playing-back their stories!

Drama and Ageing with Ron Wiener

This course will use drama to explore issues such as: making sense of one's life; the empty nest syndrome: retirement: being positive in one's old age and care of the elderly. The course will be creative and fun with lots of improvisation, is open to all ages and no previous acting experience is necessary. The main thrust of the course will be to create a play from scratch which will be performed on the final afternoon.
